मैं इसलिए धरती पे नहीं आया हूँ,
की हुस्न तेरा श्रृंगार करता रहूँ,
तेरी आँखों में झांक के,
तेरी जुल्फों में सो के
अपनी जिंदगी काटता रहूँ।
मैं इसलिए धरती पे नहीं आया हूँ,
की हर दर पे सर झुकता रहूँ,
कभी लाचार बन के उनकी चौखट पे,
कभी बीमार बन के उनकी चाहत में,
उनका इंतज़ार करता रहूँ।
मैं इसलिए धरती पे नहीं आया हूँ,
की स्वर्णो की चाहत में संग्राम करूँ।
मैं इसलिए धरती पे भी नहीं आया हूँ,
की सफलता के झंडे लागउँ।
मैं आया हूँ, तो
इस धरती को हरा कर जाऊँगा,
हर तरफ शीशम के पेड़ लगा जाऊँगा।
गायों को बहुत दूर तक चरना न परे,
इस माटी के कण-कण में परमीत,
हरी- हरी घाँसे खिला जाऊँगा।

This is the poem related to the confusion the writer has in his life. He is not able to understand the purpose of his life in this world. Then he realized that he is not here to do science, film and marriage. He is not on this earth to collect gold, land and property, he is not here to  do fight, to rule or to guide people. He is here to serve his mom, his country and the Nature. He wants to plant as many trees as possible. He wants to cover all the lands with trees, grass and flowers so that a cow does not need to go very far for grazing. A child does not need to go very far to get the fruits.
